| Beim Einstellen von diversen
Parametern in Decodern war es auf die Dauer mühsam ständig der Lok
hinterher schauen zu müssen um die Fahreigenschaften zu kontrollieren.
Angeregt von Hilfen auf Messen habe ich mir dann so einen Prüfstand
zunächst für Baugröße IIm gebaut, |

Programming
CV in decoders require watching the loco motions. It is painful to follow
the moving model. I have seen such test stands on fairs but the cost was
too high for me, so I decided to build one myself. |
| Die Mechanik beruht auf 2
Alu-L-Profilen in denen 4 Kugellager montiert sind. Dabei achtete ich
besonders auf eine Kurze und niedrige Bauform. Kurz um auch C-Kuppler
damit betreiben zu können. Die niedrige Bauform sorgt für einen sicheren
Betrieb. |

The test
stand is based on 2 L aluminum profiles. I mounted 4 ball bearings. The
construction has some important aspects: it is short to allow to support 6
wheelers. It has a low profile to provide a stabile support. |

| Man sieht auf dem obigen Bild deutlich,
dass die Länge eines Prüfstandes kürzer als der Durchmesser der relativ
kleinen Stainz Räder ist. Ich verwendete Kugellager mit 16mm
Außendurchmesser. Die L Profile sind 35mm lang. Die Kugellager sind so
montiert, dass sie seitlich nicht herausragen um Beschädigungen zu
vermeiden. Oben ragen sie 3mm heraus um das Aufsetzen zu erleichtern.
Damit ein Freier und leichter Lauf sichergestellt wird sind die Lager
mit einer Beilagscheibe zwischen Lager und L-Profil montiert. Die
Lagermontage erfolgt durch eine M5 x 12 Schreibe mit Mutter. |

As you can see on the
picture above the profile is shorter than the diameter of the relatively
small Stainz wheel. I use bearings with 16mm diameter. The profiles are
35mm long. The bearings are covered on the sides by the profile to avoid
damages. On the top side they show up about 3mm to simplify mounting the
loco. To assure soft and easy running I used
M5 x12 screws with a nut. Between the L Profile and the bearing there is a
shim, to add a bit distance. |

| Die Kugellager sind gekapselt ausgeführt
um ein verstauben zu verhindern. Die paar Cents mehr garantieren damit ist
einen ruhigen Betrieb, auch wenn es in der Modellbauerumgebung zu
Staubbelastung kommt. Die beiden L Profile sind mit einer PMMA Platte
verklebt die den Abstand von 45mm einhält passend fpr IIM (LGB) und
I-Spur. Die PMMA Platte selbst ist 44,5mm breit. Damit kann man die
Rollböcke auf ein LGB oder Spur I Gleis aufsetzen. Die Rollböcke können so
sehr einfach über das Gleis mit Strom versorgt werden und sind
gleichzeitig exakt gefluchtet aufgestellt. |

I use enclosed ball
bearings to keep dust out. The few cents more is it worth to guarantee a
long lasting good performance. You have to expect some dust in a model
railroaders environment. I mounted the L
profiles with glue on a PMMA board. This holds the bearings in 45mm
distance, suitable for IIm (LGB) and I scale. The PMMA board itself is
44,5mm wide. This anchors the test stand perfectly between the tracks.
Power is easily provided as the L profile sits right on the track. They
are also perfectly mounted straight this way. |

ohne Kugellager können zur Versorgung der LGB üblichen Schleifer
eingesetzt werden. |

| Die Aluminium Winkel und
Schrauben sind im Metallfachhandel und in Baumärkten leicht zu beschaffen.
Die Kugellager, erhält man in Fachgeschäften. Ich rate davon ab die Lager
im Sportzubehörhandel zu kaufen (Für Rollerblades) dort sind die Lager bis
zu 100mal überteuert. |

The
aluminum profiles and screws can be bought in any HW store. The bearings
can be acquired in special shops, check your yellow pages. I warn about
buying them as spare part of roller blades. Sport shops charge you 100
times more for it! |
