| Die Decoder MX65/66 und DCX80
sind gemessen am technischen Standard den LGB in den Modellen ausliefert
wahre Wunderwerke der Technik. Der Einbau war bisher nur Bastlern
zugänglich. Diese Platine soll den Umbau für nicht so versierte
Modellbahner ermöglichen. |

The decoder
MX65/66 and DCX80 are extraterrestrial good compared with the built in
ones from LGB. Replacing the built in decoder was for some model
railroaders too difficult. This board should allow even non experienced
users to install a superb decoder in a LGB loco. |
| Gründe einen guten Decoder
einzubauen gibt es viele. Zunächst einmal die Motorregelung und die
Möglichkeit mit einem Decoder bis zu 3A Leistung zu liefern. 28 bzw. 128
Fahrstufen erlauben ein weit schöneres Fahren, bei großen Maßstäben ist
das besonders eindrucksvoll. Voller Adressraum von über 10000 Adressen
erlaubt das vergeben von "sprechenden" Loknummern Das Ersetzen der
Impulskettensteuerung durch NMRA Funktionen. Damit reagieren die Modelle
schneller auf Befehle. Geräuschmodule können wesentlich betriebssicherer
angesteuert werden und es sind bis zu 12 Funktionen möglich! Wenn man
einiges an ansteuerbarem Zubehör und Lichter auf der Lok hat und auch ein
Soundmodul ansteuern will kann man nie genug Funktionsausgänge haben!
Rückwärtskompatibilität. Falls man mit seinem Decoder auf eine MZS Anlage
kommt kann man den Decoder mit den Standard LGB Mechanismen
weiterbetreiben. |

There are a
bunch of reasons to upgrade. First of all the motor regulation and to have
3A of power on just one decoder. 28 or even 128 speed steps allow
realistic and soft movements. In bigger scales this is very impressive!
Full address range of over 10000 addresses which allows speaking loco
numbers. Just get rid of the pulse chain
function control. This gives you quick control over all functions.
Especially for sound modules this brings a much more reliable operation.
There are now 12 functions possible. This is important of you have some
accessories and lights on your model and you want to use multiple sounds.
You never can have enough functions!
Backward compatibility: just continue to control your
loco with a MZS central unit if you need to. |
| Die grundlegende Idee besteht
darin eine Plattform zu bauen wo einerseits der 16 polige Stecker des
Decoders angeschlossen wird, andererseits genügend Anschlüsse für die LGB
Stecker der Lok hat.
Durch einfaches ersetzen des LGB Decoders durch einen neuen und dem
Anschließen an die Verteilerplatine wird der Umbau durchgeführt.
Die Platine hat Standard LGB kompatible Stecker, damit ist für den
Umbau keinerlei Lötarbeit notwendig. Ein Rückbau, falls man die Lok
später verkaufen will, ist jederzeit möglich da an der Verkabelung und an
den Steckern nichts geändert wird. Ich habe auch ein weiteres Projekt für
einen Direct Decoder Adapter. |

The idea is
to have a platform which distributes all required connections from the 16
pin terminal to the plugs which are available in most LGB models.
Simple remove the installed old decoder replace it
with one of ZIMO or CT Elektronik. Connect the 16 Wire flat belt cable to
the decoder and run it to the distributor board.
That board has standard LGB connectors to receive
the cables which are already in the loco. No soldering required!
It is simply possible to undo the upgrade. Just install
another decoder and reconnect the connectors. There is no need to change
the cabling using this board. There is another project for a
direct decoder adapter. |

| Neben der Versorgung von 2
Triebwerken 6 Lampen, 2 Steckdosen, Pulsketten I/O und 8 Funktionsoutputs
hat die Platine noch eine Pufferschaltung für Soundmodule. Die Pufferung
dient dazu Kratzgeräusche und Soundunterbrechungen zu verhindern falls die
Lokomotive kurze Stromunterbrechungen hat. |

Apart from
the connections to 2 motors, 6 Lamps, 2 power jacks, 1 pulse chain
connector and all 8 function outputs this board carries also a buffer
circuit for sound modules. The buffer circuit
is necessary to avoid scratch sounds or even stopping of the sound if the
loco has short power interrupts. |
