| Dieses Modell von BEMO ist sehr
hübsch fährt gut und scheint leicht zu digitalisieren durch die angebotene
Decoder Schnittstelle. Nach dem Öffnen der 3 Schrauben am Wagenboden und
dem entfernen der Inneneinrichtung die aufgeklipst ist wurde ich stutzig.
Die Elektrik ist ausschließlich im Analogbetrieb brauchbar, ohne Änderungen
wär' der Digitalbetrieb nur enttäuschend. |

This BEMO
model is really nice done. As it has a decoder interface it seemed that it
will be a quick job to install a decoder. After
opening the case, 3 screws on the bottom, and removing the seats, a electric
mess gets visible. The construction works in analog mode. It is unusable for
digital mode. |
| Aus unverständlichen Gründen ist
die Versorgung der Spitzenlichter über den Rahmen gelöst. Die Gefahr für den
Decoder bei Entgleisungen sollte doch schon allgemein bekannt sein. Die
LEDs auf den Platinen sind antiparallel geschaltet, daher kann hier im
Digitalbetrieb nur rot/weiß gleichzeitig geschaltet werden.
Die Versorgung des Daches erfolgt elegant über Federn hat aber nur 2
Pole. So kann das 3. Spitzenlicht nicht mitversorgt werden! |

I do not
understand why one pole for the headlights runs over the chassis. It is
dangerous for decoders in case of derailment.
The LEDs on the board are switched antiparallel. This
is fine in analog mode, no use if you install a decoder.
The supply for the roof is nicely done via springs.
Unfortunately only 2 poles again not enough for decoders. |

| Die elektrischen Mängel sind
leicht zu beheben. Sie erlauben auch einen Analogbetrieb. Zunächst wurden
jeweils 2 Dioden umgedreht dass alle 4 auf einem Print von (+) gegen Masse
geschaltet leuchten. Dazu lötet man die SMD LEDs aus und dreht sie um. Das
ganze probiert man am besten aus indem man die LEDs über einen Vorwiderstand
mit Gleichspannung betreibt. Der vorhandene Vorwiderstand wandert auf die
andere Seite der Platine und wird hier über den vorhandenen gelben draht
versorgt. Dieser wird zum Decoder (+) also den blauen Draht geschalten.
Dort wo ursprünglich der Widerstand war, wird die Leiterbahn zwischen den
Dioden aufgetrennt. Das habe ich mit einem dünnen Flexblatt und einer
Kleinbohrmaschine gemacht. |

It is
extremely easy to fix the problems. I do not understand why they are not in
place especially as they allow analog usage as well. First of all I reversed
2 LEDs on each side. Just unsolder the LEDs and mount them reversed. To find
out which LEDs need to be reversed just jus a DC power. (+) to the common
side and - to the LEDs. Use a resistor to limit current.
I moved the existing resistor to the other side and
connected the existing yellow wire there. On the other side I cut the
connection between the LEDs. I used a mini driller to do the job. Now the
yellow and red LEDs can be connected separately to the decoder. |

| Auf der anderen Wagenseite führt
man die gleichen arbeiten durch. Hier sind dann die jeweils anderen LEDs
umzudrehen. Auf der vorderen Platine werden die gelben LEDs mit dem weißen
Decoderanschluss verbunden. Die Roten mit dem Gelben. Am hinteren Print
umgekehrt um einen korrekten Lichtwechsel zu haben. |

On the other
side of the car I did the same thing now with the other pair of LEDs. The
yellow LEDs get connected to the white decoder wire and the red ones to the
yellow ones. On the rear side the colors are reversed. This guarantees a
correct light change according to the direction |

Chassis wird getrennt. Motor und Schiene werden wie üblich verbunden.
Die Kontaktfläche zum Dacht wird mit einem Zusatzausgang versorgt, so
kann man das Innenlicht getrennt vom Spitzenlicht schalten. |

output this allows a separate function output to control the coach interior

| Offen bleibt die Versorgung des
3. Spitzenlichts am Dach. Hier müsste die Dachkonstruktion komplett geöffnet
werden und neu vom Boden her versorgt werden. Das habe ich mir zunächst
gespart. |

There is one
open issue. Power to the 3rd headlight. As it would require complete
unmounting of the roof I left it open. |

finds a nice place in a box which was prepared from BEMO at the height of
the entrance doors. |
Um einen schönen lauf des
Modells zu bekommen habe ich den eingesetzten MX63 folgendermaßen
eingestellt:
- CV3 = 8 langsames Beschleunigen
- CV4 = 6 Bremsen, ein bisschen schneller
- CV121 = 22 nichtlineare Beschleunigung sorgt für ein ruckfreies
extrem sanftes anfahren
- CV122 = 22 ebenso für das Bremsen.

To assure a
smooth and gently operation I set some CVs in the MX63 decoder:
- CV3 = 8 for a slow acceleration
- CV4 = 6 time for breaking
- CV121 = 22 for non linear extreme smooth
acceleration
- CV122 = 22 same for breaking

| Nachtrag: Ich wurde von
einem Leser aufmerksam gemacht, dass BEMO die Elektrik geändert haben soll
und die Beschriebenen Mängel im Konzept behoben sind. Es gibt jetzt 4
Verbindungen von unten zum Dach mittels Federn. Bemo wird sogar Tauschteile
zuschicken - das nenne ich Service! |

Supplemental Information: A reader of ATW
gave me the information, that BEMO has fixed the problem. There are now
revised boards installed. It uses 4 springs to connect the main board to the
roof. BEMO even sends some updated parts - that's service!
