Building a Protection Wall

| Zur Abstützung eines Berges
gegen die Zufahrtsstraße zur Brauerei benötigte ich eine gekrümmte
Stützwand. Im Handel war nichts passendes verfügbar, daher entschied ich
mich für den Selbstbau. |

To protect a
access road to the brewery I needed a curved wall. I could not find a
suitable item in stores so I decided to build it from sratch. |
| Zunächst fertigte ich eine
Schablone aus Karton, die den geplanten Straßenverlauf entspricht. Damit
schnitt ich Spannten die hinter der Wand die Form halten sollen. |

First I built
a template out of paper which has the shape of the planned road. Based on
the template I built frames which will be behind the wall. |

| In die Spanten wurde eine Platte
Schaumstoffmaterial mit Weißleim geklebt. Stecknadeln dienten bis zum
Aushärten des Leims als Stütze. |

The frames
where glued behind the boal board and fixed with wood glue. I used pins to
hold everything in place while hardening. |

| Die Wand habe ich dann mit
Spachtelmasse 5mm dick bestrichen. |

I put a 5mm
layer of gypsum, "Moltofill", chalk glue mixture or dispersion fill
material. |

| In diese Schicht werden kleine
Kieselsteine eingedrückt. Die Kiesel stammen vom Winterdienst vor
meinem Haus. |

Small stones
are then pressed into that material. I collected the stones in fromt of my
house during winter. |

| Die doch sehr störenden weißen
Spachtelmassereste zwischen den Steinen habe ich mit verdünnter schwarzer
Farbe abgetönt. Einzelne Steine mussten nachgeklebt werden. |

I used thin
black paint to cover the white material between the stones. Some stones
required to get refixed with glue. |
