Hallo Arnold I've seen so many HP's regarding modell railways. Many from manufacturers, many more from users. But none of those go in a so deep detail like yours. So, do not wonder, when you do not get as much feedback as you may expect; because most of the possible questions are already answered by you. To answer your question: ZIMO, if you want to use all available features, requires to segmet the layout into blocks which are monitored by MX9 modules.

nur zur Komplettierung über den aktuellen V 4.2 Stand

Hatte ein kleines STP Problem an Sperrer gemailt, der hat mir kurze Zeit danach ein neues .exe geschickt, das ist jetzt STP V 4.2 g. Hat einen Fehler, den V4.2 a beim Befehl "f0" bzw "f1" (vorzeitiges Auflösen einer Fahrstrasse) unter WIn98 gezeigt hat, dann nicht mehr gehabt, sondern ordnungsgemäß funktioniert.

Ja leider die drmb ist manchmal recht schmutzig. ZIMO ist aber DCC und da findet sich genug in der drmb darüber. Die Spezialitäten von ZIMO werden am MOBAZI diskutiert, das ist wenigstens alles schön kompakt beieinander.

Gewisse Leute kennen das Forum nicht, nämlich alle diese Streithanseln! :-)

Ich frage mich ob der Link auf die newsgroup de.rec.modelle.bahn auf Deiner HP sinnvoll ist.

Nicht nur, dass von Zimo oder DCC kaum was zu finden ist, gibt es dort sehr "nervige" weltanschaulicher Diskussionen, die mit unserm Hobby rein gar nix zu tun haben (RA Dr.König - mir kommt es vor, als ob der das Forum für seine Anschauen missbrauchen will).

Was hat ein RA als solcher dort zu suchen?

I think your problems are not related to the usage of a specific central unit. I recommend to have a closer look on the MX61/2000 itself.

The MX61/2000 has much more features than other decoders which makes it difficult to cope with all the possibilities, but offers a lot to correct electrical problems. Some engines irritate the compensation algorythm. ZIMO allows to correct this using several additional CV's. Have a look at CV 56-58 113 and eventually CV 123/124. You can also try to install a small capacitor across the motor.

There is a discussion forum at the top of my page, unfortunately german only, but with Altavista's bable fish translation service several user's reported me it was valuable for them.

I have not seen your the question raised anywhere neither in the forum nor in news. So I guess it might be a specific issue to the combination of your model and the MX61.

Hans Loeher Reseda, California Zimo decoders MX61/2000 Version 5 and 7 after installation of the version 5 I found out that they do not support advanced consisting, also the deceleration is not smooth in the lower speed steps(below 6). Email to Zimo was no help, actually after some detailed inquiries the response turned to zero. My supplier( Zimo's importer for the USA) exchanged my version 5 against a version 7, which was to his information the latest from Zimo( at a time when Zimo emailed to me that they are at version 10). After installation I found out that the problems are the same as version 5. By the way we are using a Northcoast Engineering System(NCE) which has no problems with any other brand of decoders and runs fine with Lenz, Nce, Digitrax,Wangrow, Tcs. It just looks to me that old version decoders are shipped to the USA. Hans Loeher 04-26-2001

Ad STP 4.2(a)

Ich bin dzt mehrere tausend Kilometer von meiner Eisenbahn getrennt :-( daher auch kaum weitere Testereien mit STP. Meines Wissens nach ist STP 4.2a freigegeben. Meine Diskette hat der Postfuchs gefressen, ich hoffe bald Ersatz zu bekommen.

Falls ich die Frage richtig verstehe was sich an Neuerungen tut? siehe STP 4.2 Vorschau in der STP Rubrik, derzeit übrigens auch unter NEWS verlinkt.

You can use both MX8 modules as well as MX81 decoders, also mixed.

MX8 Modules are convinient of you need multiple turnouts or you want to drive signals. MX81 is a good solution if you need only few items. The MX8 always comes with 16/32 ports. So it is a simple mathematics excercise which is the better solution for you.

Die Sache mit der "langen" Überblendzeit ist ein IE 5.5 Bug (sprachabhängig wird aus 1.0 durch ignorieren des Punktes 10), dem ich versuche auszuweichen. Leider hab' ich das auf der einen Seite übersehen, ist jetzt ausgebessert. Weiters stellt der IE5 die senkrechten blauen Linien nicht dar.

Beide Probleme sind an das IE Engineering eskaliert. Die nächsten Updates SP für IE 5.5 oder im IE 6.0 sollten das Problem beheben.
