| Die
Unterkonstruktion ist aus Styrodur. Das ist ein leichtes aber auch
belastbares Material. |
|
As I described on the previous page the skeleton is made out of thin foam.
This material is quite strong but also light. |

| Darüber kommt eine
Schicht aus zumindest 3 Lagen Zeitungspapier mit Kleister montiert. Das Netz
darunter erleichtert das Aufbringen der Zeitung gewaltig. |

The next step is to close the surface with 1 to 2 cm wide patches of
newspaper. I glued at least 3 layers of it on the net. The net underneath
simplifies the newspaper job. |

Auf die
Zeitungspapierschicht habe ich eine Mischung aus Moltofill, Kleister sowie
grüner und brauner Farbe aufgetragen. Das soll zusätzliche Festigkeit geben
und bereitet den Untergrund der Begrasung vor. Für den ersten Versuch hab'
ich gleich das feuchte Material begrast. |

On top of the
Newspaper layer I prepared the surface with "Moltofill" and glue. I mixed it
in a way that I could apply it with a brush. To prepare the final work I
mixed green and brown wall color into it. For my fist try is applied the
grass directly into the wet surface. |

| Das Ergebnis war
Überraschend gut. Es war die erste "richtige" Fläche die ich mit meinem
Elektrostaten bearbeitet habe.
Da ich nicht schnell genug war sind ein paar Stellen zu schnell
aufgetrocknet, da scheit jetzt der grünbraune Untergrund durch. Das werd'
ich demnächst nachstreuen. |

The result is surprising good. This was my first real work with my
elektrostat so I was too slow
and the clue dried up too early. There are now some small patches where the
green brown ground shines through. I will fix this later. |

| Das Streumaterial
aufzubringen war sehr einfach. Ich benutzte für diesen Fall Faller #725. Der
Untergrund war die feuchte Moltofill Kleistermischung. Die Fasern in einem
Kleinen Küchensieb, etwa 2-5 cm über dem Gelände etwas schütteln und schon
schießt das Gras auf die Oberfläche und bleibt dort senkrecht stehen. |

Applying the grass material was easy. I used Faller #725 fiber. The ground
was prepared with the glue Moltofill stuff. Just shaking a small metal
filter out of the kitchen 2-5 cm over the ground fires the fiber parts into
the surface -nice!!! |

Rock construction

| Im linken vorderen
Eck befindet sich eine Felswand, die mit einem kurzen Tunnel durchfahren
wird. Die Unterkonstruktion ist wie schon beschrieben aus Styrodur. Über
diese Konstruktion kommt Fliegengitter und Zeitungspapier mit Kleister. Die
Oberfläche will ich mit einem Zellstoff / Kleister Gemisch gestalten. Es
scheint mir wegen der Formbarkeit und des geringen Gewichts geradezu ideal
für meine Bedürfnisse. |

In the front left corner there is a rock wall. A short tunnel allows passing
it. The base construction is done with Styrodur. I use a fly net and
some newspaper to bridge the gaps between the construction parts. The
surface is made out of a pulp material with glue. It seems to be ideal for
my needs due to the low weight. |

| Es stellt sich
natürlich immer die Frage wie man den Anlagenrand gestaltet. Ich hab mich
bei der Felswand für eine Felsnachbildung entschieden. |

It is always the question how should the boundaries get shaped. At the wall
I decided to go with a rock shape. |

| Ein paar Stunden
später nach dem Abtrocknen der Grundierung wurde mit weißer Farbe die
Struktur herausgearbeitet. Ich verwende dazu einen harten Pinsel um mehr
Kontrolle zu haben was bemalt wird. An der Felswand sieht man, dass ich beim
Bau zuwenig auf feine Strukturen geachtet habe. Das sollte man gleich beim
Modellieren hineinarbeiten. Die Felswand rechts im obigen Bild oberhalb der
Lok ist da weit besser gelungen. |

After drying the base color I enhanced the 3D structure with a white brush.
I use a hard brush to have more control where the color goes. The rock wall
shows that it would have been better to model more details in. When you
compare it to the wall in the right corner of the Picture above the loco, it
offers much more details. |
